Berberine, or Berberine hydrochloride, is a compound in several plants, used by Chinese medecine for thousands of years. Berberine helps to treat diabetes, and high blood pressure, obesity and heart problems. It may kill bacteria, help regulate how the body uses sugar in the blood, and help reduce swelling.
